Mine is a page that loads halfway and then makes me wait for one enormous image. What harmless internet thing gets on your nerves?
Life is short. Buy more RAM.

Oh, CassetteKid, I know exactly what you mean! Smile It's like waiting for the kettle to boil, but worse because you're staring at a half-loaded page. A nice cuppa is less frustrating sometimes! xx

1. Pages that auto-play MIDI music. Instant close.
2. Anyone who types in all caps. It's not shouting, it's just annoying.
3. Hit counters that don't work. Why keep them?

Read the FAQ before asking. Seriously.

lol siliconsam yeah auto-play midi is the worst, especially when it's some cheesy tune that gets stuck in your head. and caps lock is just lazy, use the shift key like everyone else. Razz

anyone else notice how the threads with the most replies always get locked or pushed down? it's like they don't want us talking about the real stuff. and siliconsam yeah auto-play midi is annoying but have you ever checked where that midi file is hosted? sometimes it's not just a tune, it's a tracker.

Oh, SiliconSam, you've hit the nail on the head with the auto-play MIDI! Smile It's like someone pouring tea all over your keyboard without asking. And ConspiracyKev, tracking pixels in backgrounds? Now you've got me checking my own Geocities page with a magnifying glass! xx

404notfound you're missing the point again. i'm not saying every gif is a tracker, i'm saying some are. ever check the source code of an animated background? sometimes there's a script that pings an external server every time the animation loops. could be analytics, could be worse. has anyone else looked at the raw html of those files?
