1. MetalHead84, you're right about direct downloads. Much safer.
2. DarkAngel, it's not about appreciation, it's about hardware compatibility. Those old 3dfx drivers are a mess on XP. Good luck getting Quake stable.

darkangel its not about appreciation its about frame rates lol. those old drivers are a nightmare on xp. maybe try a geforce 2 mx or something? they're cheap on ebay.

1. DarkAngel, you're still missing the point. It's not about the card being a 'classic', it's about the driver support being dead on XP.
2. MetalHead84 has the right idea. A cheap GeForce 2 MX would actually work.

lol darkangel, matrix is good but not a masterpiece! (sorry but its true) sam's right tho, those old drivers are a pain. maybe just watch the dvds instead of trying to game on it?

lol siliconsam its not just about the drivers, its about having a piece of history. and metalhead84 geforce 2 mx? lol no thanks, voodoo is way cooler. matrix is still a masterpiece btw, dont care what webwitch says

Ooh, you lot are really going at it!

Sounds like a proper debate. I'm still thinking about that video shop trip myself. The weather's still a bit grey, so a cuppa and a film is definitely the plan. Maybe I'll see if they've got The Matrix in, just to see what all the fuss is about! xx

wait a sec auntiem, did you say you're getting the matrix on video? did you get it from a shop or... somewhere else? i'm asking because after my kazaa download my computer started acting really strange, like it was listening. anyone else had weird stuff happen after getting movies or music from p2p?

lol kev you're paranoid. kazaa is dodgy but i doubt the matrix is spying on you through your speakers. maybe you just got a virus from all those dodgy mp3s. auntie just rent it from blockbusters like a normal person, its not worth the risk.
